M R James brought back to life at The Edge

Describing themselves as the British Empire's leading purveyors of Victorian theatre with bite, Don’t Go Into The Cellar tour the country bringing to life the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allan Poe and Charles Dickens. In their first ever visit to Manchester, The Edge hosts a one-man theatrical story-telling event featuring the best of M R James’ spooky ghost stories.

Warnings to the Curious: The Ghost Stories of M. R. James is an original one-man stage show based on the classic ghost tales penned by the Edwardian scholar and academic. Atmospheric, creepy and in the finest tradition of the classic English ghost story.

Hailing from the West Midlands, the Don’t Go Into The Cellar theatre company started in 2010 and now plays at many Festivals, theatres and events across the UK. Artistic Director Jonathan Goodwin both writes and performs in the shows, bringing a life-long love of Victorian detective, ghost and horror stories to the fore. Audiences are guaranteed a splendidly authentic slice of stage-frights!

The production plays for one night only at The Edge on Friday 4 April at 7.30pm
