Alexei Sayle book event & onstage interview (Manchester)

At Home, in Manchester, on Sunday 10th April 2016 there’s a special event to mark the mark the publication of Alexei Sayle’s funny and fascinating new memoir, ‘Thatcher Stole My Trousers’, which chronicles Alexei’s arrival in London - a Marxist art student - and on through his experiences with the earliest days of the Comedy Store, the Comic Strip, and on to Top of the Pops and beyond.

Alexei will be talking about the book, personally, politically and entertainingly, including barely believable tales; pre-Comedy Store, Alexei was variously a clerk in a DHSS office (where nobody did any work), one of London's bottom ten freelance illustrators, and a school dinner lady.

In addition, during the evening the comedian/actor/writer will also feature in an exclusive onstage interview with Dave Haslam, take audience questions, and before he goes home from Home, Alexei will be available to sign books.

‘Thatcher Stole My Trousers’ follows Alexei’s critically acclaimed and hugely entertaining memoir of his childhood, ‘Stalin Ate My Homework’.

Doors 7pm, event starts 7.30pm (approx running time 90 minutes).

Advance tickets £10

This is one of several onstage interview events hosted by Dave Haslam over the next few months. They include interviews with Kate Tempest (at Home, Manchester),  Roisin Murphy (Gorilla, Manchester), Paddy Considine (Liverpool Sound City),  Tracey Thorn (Silencio, Paris), and Peter Saville (Santeria Social Cub, Milan).
