IllumiNaughty offers £1,000 grant to Manchester creatives

Manchester’s premier Indoor Festival, IllumiNaughty has launched its campaign to support Greater Manchester creatives offering up to £1000 to finance a creative project, which will be showcased to an audience of 2,000 clubbers at their biggest event to date. IllumiNaughty: Masked Ball will take place on Saturday 8th February 2014 at Manchester Academy.

Artists, crafts people, tech-wizard, sculptors, performers, VJ’s and programmers are invited to conceptualize and propose a creative, interactive project in the field of art, science or technology for review by the companies experienced production team and it’s Directors.

Having been established over 8 years, IllumiNaughty is recognized internationally as one of the UK’s most creative clubbing experiences. Gaining its reputation through inspired production, breath-taking décor installations, first class circus performers and carnivalesque, clubbing chaos, the event continues to offer production value rarely seen outside the capital.

IllumiNaughty’s 2012 move to Manchester Academy allowed the team to expand the event which now boasts three Clubbing Areas, an Outdoor Stage and a Market Hall and showcases live and electronic music in a cross-section of genres from Psy-trance, Electro and Breaks to Dub, Reggae and Bass Music.

The creative grant was introduced in 2012 and has since funded a number of projects from emerging artists and craftspeople. Most recently, Bar Manager and creative hobbyist, Fraser Lund from Chorley received cash funding to create a 'Strobe Box'. The installation was build from MDF and featured a hand carved IllumiNaughty logo on the front panel. A strobe light was positioned inside the box to create a fantastic glowing stage piece, which featured at IllumiNaughty’s Halloween Central event in November.

Previous funded projects have included a body paint art exhibition, a 3D mapped stage installation, a videography project and a motion sensitive decor installation.

Proposals for the creative grant are now being accepted, those who wish to apply for funding will find more information and guidelines on the IllumiNaughty website www.illuminaughty.co.uk or can contact the team directly via e-mail on team@illuminaughty.co.uk
