#ManchesterHour 4-5pm Monday 4th March

Manchester hour

On Monday 4th March between 4 and 5pm we are calling on all Manchester twitter users to tweet like crazy using the #ManchesterHour hash tag in order to shine a light on all things positive about our city. The aim - simple, to to get the term trending before 5pm!

It's difficult to determine the number of tweets required to trend at a certain time in the day however Rorschach (from digitalspy.co.uk) shares an interesting fact "The number of unique trending topics per day is circa 9,000. A trending topic has a “shelf life” of 11 minutes, most though are less than 5 minutes. Fame is indeed fleeting, it seems you don't even get your 15 minutes these days".

Originally an idea suggested by retail magnet Paul Sedgewick in response to the very positive activity he noticed from the #CumbriaHour campaign which took place last week. A quick search on twitter shows us that #Manchesterhour has been attempted by John from BeingSocial Uk on Thursdays 8-9pm but it has yet to create a meaningful impact for Manchester.

So if you have a business, product, special deal, story or positive message with a Manchester connection we implore you to join in and be an important part of #ManchesterHour from 4pm Monday 4th March 2013.

If we join together and tweet together -  i'm pretty sure we can do this, even if only for 5 minutes.
