Chorlton Arts Festival at The Edge

The Edge Theatre & Arts Centre in Chorlton hosts three events during this year’s Chorlton Arts Festival, from three very different areas of the Arts.

ComedySportz

Chorlton Arts Festival is an annual event in various venues around Chorlton, celebrating visual arts, live music, comedy, spoken word, performance and special events.

Sunday 18 May sees the return of the popular Family Improv group, COMEDY SPORTZ. Performing regularly around Greater Manchester, this is their second visit to The Edge, following a successful performance in February. They return as part of the Chorlton Arts Festival Comedy Weekend. The show is suitable for everyone aged 8+

The Edge is also hosting PROTOZOA, a brand new dance piece, on Friday 23 May at 7.30pm. This compelling dialogue between film and dance is a free event, with no booking necessary, although audiences are recommended to turn up early to avoid disappointment.

Throughout the Festival, some of The Edge’s regular resident art collectives will be hosting exhibitions in the building, under the title THERE’S LIFE IN CHORLTON. Opening times can be found on the Edge website (see listing information below):

From 16 – 20 May, Chorlton Alternative Art will be exhibiting their work based on live poses lasting no longer than 20 minutes, challenging the artists to capture the essence of the pose.

From 21 – 25 May, Life (and Art) in Chorlton will be exhibiting their most recent work.
