Stanley Brinks and Freschard - Chorlton Irish Club, Thurs 6 March

Stanley Brinks

Bop Local Productions and Chorlton Irish Club are pleased to announce that the wonderful Stanley Brinks  and Freschard will be playing on Thursday 6th March at Chorlton Irish Club, Manchester.

Since leaving the band Herman Düne in 2006, Andre Herman Düne has been known solely as Stanley Brinks.

Stan sets the bar high when it comes to artistic independence, freedom, tradition and avoiding fashionable trends. Born in Paris ~ but always on the move ~ he has recorded more than 100 albums, collaborated with the New York Anti-folk scene on several occasions, recorded and toured with traditional Norwegian musicians and played a lot with The Wave Pictures.  Stan loves to play his albums live in small venues and private apartments where he can remain true to his musical ideals.

Stanley Brinks will be supported by Freschard. Now living in Berlin, but born in Dijon, Clémence Freschard writes songs deftly combining folk music, urban daydreams, acoustic sounds and electronic programming.

Stan will be performing a live session for Marc Riley's radio show on BBC 6 Music between 7-9pm on the day of the gig, so he'll be legging it from the BBC studios at Media City to be with us at the Irish Club immediately afterwards!

Tickets for this gig are £8 advance from Chris at Chorlton Irish Club 0161 881 2898; or from Piccadilly Records, Oldham St, NQ, Manchester City Centre; or just click this link on the Bop Local Productions website.
