The Tiger Lillies: The Very Worst of the Tiger Lillies

The Tiger Lillies: The Very Worst of the Tiger Lillies

National Tour from 7th March to 7th June 2015

Celebrating 25 years of musical mayhem, the Grammy nominated Godfathers of alternative cabaret, The Tiger Lillies are set to embark on a UK tour. The Very Worst of the Tiger Lillies is set to arrive on our shores from 7th March containing their unique brand of dark and deviant theatrics.

With an international reputation for their avant-garde style, The Tiger Lillies never cease to surprise, shock and entertain with their inimitable musical styling, conjuring up the macabre magic of pre-war Berlin and fusing it with a savage edge of punk. Winning public acclaim with their cult hit musical ‘Shockheaded Peter’, the group was nominated for five Olivier Awards, taking home two for Best Entertainment and Best Supporting Performance in a Musical or Entertainment for their charismatically sinister front man Martyn Jacques.

As well as being celebrated for their bold and hypnotic stage shows, The Tiger Lillies have proven depth behind their longevity, receiving a Grammy Award nomination for their classical crossover album The Gorey End.

The band have accumulated a number of high profile fans, with The Simpsons creator Matt Groening asking them to perform the show’s theme song for an episode, later booking them to play at his ATP Festival claiming in his introduction ‘All these bands are my favourites, but here is a favourite, favourite’. The Tiger Lillies have also toured with acclaimed photographer Nan Goldin, having been asked to compose a piece of music to accompany her iconic series The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, performing the track worldwide alongside Goldin’s work.

Having recently won rave reviews with their new shows The Ancient Mariner and Lulu – A Murder Ballad, The Very Worst of the Tiger Lillies sees the group paying homage to their 25 year career of dark, twisted performances with a characteristically provocative vaudevillian experience designed to thrill and amaze audiences across the UK.
