The whisky sessions: 24 Bands, 2 days, world class whiskies, an amazing venue

The whisky sessions, 24 Bands, 2 days, world class whiskies, an amazing venue…

The Whisky Sessions will make its first full festival debut in Manchester this November - a new music and whisky festival held over 2 days at Victoria Warehouse, featuring I Am Kloot and Gomez (above) as headliners.

With 24 bands performing across 2 stages, The Whisky Sessions is a ground-breaking new winter music festival with a whisky twist.

The Whisky Sessions are now pleased to announce that they have teamed up with Movember to bring Mo-tastic activities to the proceedings – and an opportunity for this November’s biggest Manchester event to raise funds for an amazing cause.

Movember, the month formally known as November, is all about bringing back the moustache, having fun and doing it for a serious cause; men's health - specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

With the support of the women in their lives, Mo Bros commit to growing a moustache for the 30 days of Movember, and in doing so become walking, talking billboards for men’s health. The moustache is the ribbon, the symbol which generates conversations, awareness and funds for this cause.

The Whisky Sessions will be creating their own ‘Mo Lounge’ at the Festival, which will house a specialist whisky and cocktail bar and, where festival-goers can come to meet the Movember team, find out more about the great charity, and naturally, get their Mo’s groomed in style with the in-house barber.

Last year over 8,000 men in Manchester signed up and grew a moustache, so we know how supportive the region is already, and hope that we’ll be able to encourage some more Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to sign up and get involved.

Antony Warren from The Whisky Sessions said: “We are really pleased to be supporting Movember, and helping to spread the word about men’s health to our customers. As a music and whisky festival, we are obviously keen for people to enjoy themselves, but it’s important that we can also promote responsible drinking and health awareness too. Last year over 8,000 men in Manchester signed up and grew a moustache, so we know how supportive the region is already, and hope that we’ll be able to encourage some more Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to sign up and get involved.”

As a thank you to all those who grow their Mo, there will also be an exclusive, daily, “Mo Tutored Whisky Tastings” for up to 30 Mo Bros & Sisters per day featuring some of the International Wine & Spirit Competition’s award winning whiskies, which will be hosted by Eddie Ludlow from The Whisky Lounge (and one of the judges for the IWSC whisky category). Tastings must be registered for in advance, details of which will soon be announced.

The Whisky Sessions are also aiming to create a Mo Team where Whisky Sessions Mo Bros are encouraged to upload their photo to the Movember website to proudly share their Movember look pre-Festival, and help to spread the word even further in Manchester.

As well as the fundraising and awareness building activities happening at the Mo Lounge, £3 from all tickets bought via the Movember website will go directly to Movember.
