We love Manchester - No matter what Chloe Sevigny says

Never one to shy away from attention or controversy, American actress and former model Chloë Sevigny has slammed Manchester as "one of the grimmest places she has ever visited"

‘Five Best Things about Manchester’

Sevigny spent five months in our northern city last year to film the television series Hit and Miss, in which she plays a pre-op transsexual contract killer.

In defence of our Northern cosmopolitan hub, Manchester based company LateRooms.com has announced it’s ‘Five Best Things about Manchester’, explaining what the American actress was missing out on whilst staying there.

A vast range of shopping

From the Northern quarter for vintage shopping, to King Street and ‘The Avenue’ for high end stores, Manchester is not short on places to soak up the latest fashion and score a few bargains. Lets not forget Edwards Of Manchester - Purveyors of the finest footwear from the best shoemakers since 1830!

Hundreds of unique places to dine

Not only packed full of Britain’s favourite chain restaurants such as wagamama, Manchester also boasts some independent gems including Don Giovannis and San Carlo.

Iconic and UK-changing culture

Home to groundbreaking music acts such as Oasis, The Stone Roses and even Take That, Manchester is always first on the scene with the newest sounds, watch out for The RainBand in 2012. It is also unforgettably home to Coronation Street, the longest running UK soap, and many of its stars.

Football

Who can deny that two of the greatest teams in the UK are from this northern city? Age-old rivals Manchester Utd and Manchester City both produce great home-grown talent, as well as international acclaim, and it means you’ll never be short of something to talk about in a local Manchester watering hole.

Great transport links

A large city on a small scale, Manchester is easily accessible from one side to another, and from anywhere in the UK: a feat considering the amount of things that are crammed into its locality. A speedy tram ride is a must for any visitor!

“We all love Manchester in the office, and are proud of being a home-grown Mancunian company” says Lynda Matthews, Marketing Manager at LateRooms.com. “Living and working here, you are never short of things to do, and have compiled a list of these for everyone to enjoy, even Chloë if she ever did want to come back!”

As well as celebrating all there is to do and see in Manchester, LateRooms.com also have a great range of Manchester properties on their website, so visitors are never short of somewhere to stay and kick back after a hard day’s sightseeing, shopping and eating.
