LOVE the designer chic interior of Manchester’s iconic Corn Exchange shopping centre? Want to furnish your new business on a budget and do your bit for charity in the bargain?

Well, now you can buy it – all of it, even a left over sink. From just a tenner per item*.

Corn Exchange Manchester is holding a bargain-busting ‘everything’s a tenner’ yard sale of all their left over fixtures and fittings from the mall and serviced offices – desks and office chairs, sofas and chandeliers to TVs, a throne and even a piano.

Even the centre’s multi-storey ‘Sky Bar’^ is up for sale with the ‘just a tenner’ price-tag. The only catch is that all items purchased must be taken away either on the day of purchase (or with prior arrangement for bigger ticket items)** at the buyer’s expense.

The unique Yard Sale takes place on Saturday 19thJuly for one day only. A cash donation to Forever Manchester will be made for every item sold on the day (minimum £10).

Among the items up for grabs are full length mirrors, fridges, tables, chairs and bar stools, cupboards, desks (over 60 available), marble cupboard tops, a glass counter, a variety of framed pictures, bean bags, shoe racks and the huge orbital pod that is the Corn Exchange’s famous Sky Bar, once home to the two-storey Cafe Nero. Plus six back-wash sinks.

Aviva Investor’s Property Trust, owners of Corn Exchange Manchester and Queensberry Real Estate, the development managers who are organising the sale are currently underway with bold plans to revitalise and re-position this remarkable historic Grade II listed building into a premier dining destination that will be home to 13 independent restaurants and a boutique hotel.

Simon Green, Associate Director at Aviva Investors comments: “We are investing in Corn Exchange for its long-term sustainable use, restoring the buildings fantastic listed features including glazed domes to create a legacy for future generations to enjoy and act as a catalyst for an even more exciting regeneration of this part of the city centre.

We were astounded at what had been left behind in the scheme and wanted to do something with the items ahead of the scheme being stripped back prior to redevelopment.  We’ve always been supporters of Forever Manchester and hope this sale will raise funds for good local causes.

The historic Grade II listed building will become home to a collection of the best new and independent restaurants and food retail outlets in the region.

The yard sale kicks off at 9am on Saturday 19th July 2014.

* Forever Manchester will be accepting cash donations for items on the day.  Prices are minimum guides only.
