Couples looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day in cosmopolitan surroundings in the heart of Manchester can choose from two special Valentine’s menus at City Café, DoubleTree by Hilton’s award-winning restaurant.

 

For just £40 per person, loved-up duos can indulge in a romantic five course dinner designed by head chef, Michael Campbell, with a complimentary glass of Champagne. Diners can devour a starter of guinea fowl consommé, confit leg, quails egg or cauliflower soup, followed by a fish course of scallops, salmon, king prawn ceviche, accompanied by pineapple, mango and coriander salsa with a vegetarian option of crispy polenta, tomato salsa, wild mushroom.

 

Amorous mains include fillet steak, pomme Anna, oxtail and onion puree or gnocchi, roasted butternut squash, coriander pesto. Diners can refresh their palate with a match made in heaven sampling the gin and tonic sorbet, followed by a dessert of rhubarb tart and strawberry ice cream.

 

Romantic pairs looking for something different to a traditional Valentine’s dinner can treat themselves to a special Valentine’s afternoon tea menu for just £25 per person. Featuring a traditional menu with a contemporary twist, the carte de jour features a brioche bun stuffed with roast chicken and tarragon mayonnaise;  toasted crumpets with melted cheese and shallot chutney; buffalo mozzarella, sun blushed tomato and basil pesto wrap and a mushroom and walnut tart. Those with a sweet tooth can sample a range of elegant pastries and desserts including strawberry and champagne macaroon; chocolate and black cherry mousse; passion fruit custard tart and chocolate dipped strawberries, accompanied by a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to share.
