Manchester’s New PizzaExpress pays tribute to iconic hacienda

Pizza lovers are in for a treat with the opening of a new PizzaExpress at Manchester First Street, the city’s new cultural and leisure area.

The restaurant, which can seat 142 people, means jobs for 20 new team members, including six pizzaiolos and 10 waiters and waitresses.  An estimated 320 kilos of dough will be used in the first month as the team prepares to serve up 4,000 pizzas and 1,000 portions of PizzaExpress’ iconic Dough Balls.

Each PizzaExpress restaurant is individually designed – often using well known places, people or historical events from the area as the basis.

This new PizzaExpress is situated just around the corner from the legendary former night club, The Hacienda. As a tribute, yellow and black chevrons and other patterned shapes associated with the club have been incorporated into the restaurant’s interior design.

We have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza.

Henry Harding, manager of the new restaurant said, “We are delighted to be opening in Manchester's newest contemporary theatre, arts and film neighbourhood. We have a beautiful new restaurant and can’t wait to show it off to our customers. We have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza.”

PizzaExpress is launching a new menu on 6 October which includes a new range of ‘65’ pizzas, inspired by some of the most popular pizzas served since 1965, and upgraded with premium ingredients including buffalo mozzarella.

For younger pizza-lovers, PizzaExpress’ Piccolo menu is full of tasty choices including ‘Create Your Own’ pizza, and starts at just £3.95.

To celebrate this landmark opening; PizzaExpress are kindly offering patrons 30% off their bills for a limited time when presenting this voucher. *terms apply.
