Laugh Local Comes to Prestwich on Saturday 7th September

Laugh Local has been a roaring success, since it started last November at Chorlton Irish Club, so we thought it was about time we let the people of North Manchester join in with the fun!

Laugh Local Comes to Prestwich on Saturday 7th September

Justin Moorhouse came up with the idea of bringing a good, quality comedy night into the suburbs, on the back of the famous Bop Local club nights, which have the same ethos. So we now have Laugh Local!

Justin, who is always the host for the night, has brought some fantastic comedians over the past 9 months, including Jason Manford,  John Thomson, Jason Cook, Roy Walker...and many more! So we're all very excited that for this very first Laugh Local in Prestwich, that his guests are top notch!

The first Prestwich Laugh Local will take place on Saturday 7th September at the Heaton Park Sports & Social Bar on Bury Old Road, Prestwich. The Bop Local club nights have gone down a storm here since we started them last summer, so it seemed fitting to bring Laugh Local to this great venue.

For anyone who hasn't yet been to Laugh Local ~ it's a brilliant full-on evening from start to finish. Doors open at 7pm for a free pasty supper at the bar. The comedy starts at 8pm and finishes around 11pm. After the comedy, Bop Local DJ, Phil Beckett will be spinning some tunes till late, whilst the bar stays open.

The confirmed guest comedians for this first Laugh Local in Prestwich are John Thomson headlining with Dave Williams and Greg Cook as support.

John Thomson was last at Heaton Park Sports & Social Bar in another guise as guest DJ at Bop Local in May so we're all dead pleased that he's bringing his stand-up here too! John has been on our TV screens in the Fast Show, Cold Feet and various other TV programmes ~ and, more recently, as a guest on Celebrity Masterchef! John was fantastic at Laugh Local in Chorlton Irish Club a couple of months ago ~ don't miss this chance to see him in an intimate venue.

A fine, original comic mind…always surprising the audience with his wit.

Dave Williams is known for his crisp one-liners and surreal nonsense, which have earned him headline slots at some of the country's most prestigious comedy clubs. We can't wait to see him in Prestwich! As the Manchester Evening News put it, he's “A fine, original comic mind…always surprising the audience with his wit.”

Greg Cook's gruff, working-class approach lends his comedy a distinctive voice. He has a hard-hitting political agenda and is unafraid to use bang-up-to-date topical material, with gags hewn from the previous days' headlines alongside his more polished flights of fancy.

Tickets for Laugh Local are available online at boplocal.com or from Pinto's Cafe, Prestwich (next to Marks & Spencers) for £15,
