Friday is the return of Bugged Out | Saturday Zoo Project
Bugged Out! really has done it all. Festivals, mix compilations, magazines, international tours and at the centre of it some of the most exciting electronic music the globe has ever heard. Fervently acid house, they still represent one of the country’s most eagerly revered clubs and having started it all back in Manchester midway through the nineties still count on the city as a home.
April Fool’s day at Sankeys for them is anything but a joke, with electro’s clown prince Fake Blood taking centre stage with his ludicrous riffs and jackhammer drums. Joining him will be Ramadanman and Pearson Sound, the two alter egos of house, dubstep and techno producer du jour David Kennedy, alongside his Hessle Audio counterpart Ben UFO.
24 hours later and the Zoo get’s unleashed. The undeniable success story of the White Isle over the last five years, Zoo Project’s initial home in a disused Zoo that never was has been at the forefront of the island regaining some of its counterculture spirit and acid house roots. Reclaiming non club spaces again can be in part laid down to these irrepressible club monsters, and has their rep has grown so too has their ability to offer up the freshest and finest up and coming talent.
Super-hot USA talent Evan Baggs and Italian Federico Grazzini headline the feast of house and techno artists on offer here, all adding a sumptuous twist of white isle hedonism for a nation a mere week into British Summertime. Expect Latin rhythms, stripped back tech-grooves, warm melodies and a sun kissed sensibility to add a ray of early sunshine to Manchester’s Sankeys-based nightlife To win a pair of tickets - Answer this:
