LoveMusicLoveFood: The Book
What do you get when you mix an inspirational food photographer, a celebrated journalist and a top chef with a heaped spoonful of talented contributors and a large dollop of the world’s best musicians all in support of Teenage Cancer Trust?
You get LoveMusicLoveFood | The Rock star Cookbook
The LoveMusicLoveFood project has evolved around the vision of renowned food photographer Patrice de Villiers.
Working alongside celebrated music journalist Andrew Harrison, who penned the interviews, and rock&roll caterer to the stars Sarah Muir, who created the recipes. Patrice & her team enlisted the help of many other talented individuals and companies who generously donated their time and services to the project.
The end result is LoveMusicLoveFood, The Rock star Cookbook – a stunning book raising funds and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust with all proceeds from sales going to the charity.
Superstar chef Heston Blumenthal has written the foreword for the book and created a recipe specially for Teenage Cancer Trust’s most vocal & tirelessly campaigning patron, Roger Daltrey. Joined by a galaxy of music stars including Noel Gallagher, Kasabian, Paul Weller, Brandon Flowers, Brian May, Siouxsie Sioux & over 60 other musicians have let us in on which food or drink keeps their star shining.
"If you make pasta like you play guitar;
how awesome must that pasta be?"

I spoke with Patrice de Villiers prior to Thursdays book launch...
"The journey actually started as a result of a fire alarm going off right here at the Lowry hotel, which led to my bumping into members of the band Muse in the car park outside...
"As we went back into the hotel Matt (Bellamy) and I were chatting, he asked what I did for a living and I told him I was a food photographer and he said "Oh my God, I make pasta!", I thought crikey, if you make pasta like you play guitar; how awesome must that pasta be? ... That's really where the idea was born, a 4am after show chat with Matt.
"I was at the stage where I wanted to challenge myself and also do something for a very special charity, and what better way than to combine my immense passions, Music and Food with my third passion and also my career - Photography.
"I then went away to try to persuade the good, the great and the up and coming of the music industry to get involved and that's ultimately led me to be able to pour pasta over rock stars and smother them in Marmite or eggs or baked beans in Siouxsie Sioux's case.
"The whole project is a huge thumbs up and great testament
to the immense philanthropy of the music business in general".

"It has been a hugely collaborative process, over 150 people have helped on this project, and it's been entirely self-funded, my commercial work on a well known supermarkets Chocolate Pudding has funded the project. I think it's gone to a very good cause.
"Celebrated journalist Andrew Harrison has written some fabulous interviews for the book and Rock and Roll caterer to the stars Sarah Muir has created a recipe for everyone except for Roger Daltrey.
"I asked Heston (Blumenthal), who wrote the forward for the book, to create a special recipe for Roger Daltrey in recognition of his tireless support for the charity, he's the patron saint if you like of the Teenage Cancer Trust and the most vocal supporter of the charity. And all credit to Roger because quite frankly, he did get one of the worst ones, he had to lay down on a bed of trout and my goodness was it whiffy!
Any standout moments on this standout project?
"Oh Crikey, you know every single image has an anecdote, I suppose I'd say firstly Tinie Tempah because once I'd decided I would give the proceeds to Teenage Cancer Trust I thought - wouldn't it be great if Teenagers could see one of their idols having fun with food, perhaps that would help them get excited about it.
"Tinie Tempah had attended and won a Brit award the night before, but he joined us at 9:30am, very professional, he waxed lyrical with Andrew for over an hour about Nigerian food and food in general, incredibly eloquent, Tinie Tempah's a great guy and he encapsulates the spirit of the project in terms of connecting Teenagers with food...
"I'd have to say shooting the likes of Siouxsie Sioux who is simply massively iconic and working with Roger Daltrey was wonderful, he really got into the spirit of it.
"We stopped traffic in a hugely busy street in Mexican whilst shooting Brandon Flowers and also the lovely Cliff Richards, he was very kind.
"I can't forget Brian May, you know, what a legend, when I first started studying photography at Manchester Uni and started to shoot bands, I never once thought that one day I would be in Brian May's home asking him to hold a grapefruit like he's the Time Lord of fruit! ... The project was full of 'wow' moments.
