Now in its fifth year, The Warehouse Project has been one of the forerunners in the underground dance music scene creating a niche market in the North of England with some of the biggest acts in international dance music clambering to play at the venue underneath Manchester’s Piccadilly Station. The organisers have signalled their intent to create their biggest and best line up yet with the WHP10 events, names such as Richie Hawtin, Delphic, Doves, Kelis, David Guetta, Doom and Ian Brown amongst some of the big names playing.
Joining M.I.A. on the bill for the 13th November gig will be a set by BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac who will be co-hosting the night as part of the annual Annie Mac Presents Tour. Dubstep pioneer Rusko will be dropping one of his trademark heavy sets, fresh from working with M.I.A. on her new album.
M.I.A. will take to The Warehouse Project stage in one of the most intimate settings that the controversial singer will play in 2010. Recently headlining The Big Chill Festival in Herefordshire, the star is back making waves in her country of birth with recent album /\/\ /\ Y /\ following a year long hiatus from live performing. M.I.A. enjoyed success last year on the back of her monster hit “Paper Planes” which featured in the Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire movie.
