High Tea Taste Test
Manchester Gossip’s Cherie Bebe turned Tea Lady for a day and in true Bebe style; it was the £25 a pot Mariage Freres Sacred White that was flowing. |

The Mariage Freres Sacred White tea is being served up at Kitchen at the Circle restaurant in the city centre’s Barton Arcade. The ‘sacred white tea’ originates from a secret plantation in Sri Lanka and then farmed by the French Company ‘Mariage Freres’. ‘Over 1,500 years ago, the Emperor of China loved his white tea, a slender-bodied gem with feathery leaves. In order to preserve its mystery and delicacy the Emperor demanded that he be delivered with the finest buds that must picked each morning at dawn by young virgins using golden scissors.’ Explains Mariage Freres. All this week Kitchen At The Circle have been launching their new venture, their very own Tea Rooms and I was on hand to sample the Mariage Freres Sacred White tea which can be purchased at £25 a pot. Yes, the most expensive pot of tea currently in Manchester!
“Mariage Freres Sacred White tea is light and refreshing, not as strong or bitter as many herbal teas and although I drank it without sugar it had more of a sweet after-taste rather than a bitter one. It lends itself to delicate sips rather than glugging and I think it is really pleasant. It gets my seal of approval.”
If you are more of a coffee drinker I would suggest switching the occasional tea. Herbal tea is in fact known for attacking harmful toxins in our bodies, some teas can have a physical relaxation effect, relaxing our mind and being able to “help with the mental stimulation that lowers inhibitions and allows you to feel less inhibited in your sex life.”
