The 18th edition of ¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival returns to Cornerhouse between Friday 2 – Sunday 18 March.

 

 

The very best in comedy, drama and documentary filmmaking
from across Spain and Spanish speaking Latin America

The festival will bring a fiesta feeling to Manchester with the very best in comedy, drama and documentary filmmaking from across Spain and Spanish speaking Latin America, as well as special guests and numerous events for Spanish speakers and film fans alike.

 

Film highlights for 2012 include: Arrugas, a sensitive, comical animation that was a run-away hit with audiences at the 2011 San Sebastian Film Festival; laugh- out-loud comedy Primos; and Pa negre, the first Catalan-language film to win the Best Film Goya.

Also showing as part of the festival is Landings, a solo exhibition by Mexican artist Minerva Cuevas.
