Valentines Day - A Different Look
Valentines Day ... It can either make your heart skip a beat and make you the happiest bunny around or it can turn you into 'Suicidal Sandra' over night!
I wait with anticipation and wonder...
Will I be able to penetrate my front door in the morning for all the cards I will get?.....big fat LOL.
Valentines Day sort of comes and goes for me, like so many other people too. Yep, I'm the one out there choosing and paying for all my nice undies...when I decide to wear them that is! You see, deep down I am soo romantic and love buying my man (when I have one), little pressys that say 'hey I'm thinking about you and I think your fab!' Unfortunately, what I've had in return has been, well, complete bollocks really, with the most unromantic gestures known to women ...
'Er darlin, we not bothering this Valentines Day' was one response from an idiotic excuse for a man, I was seeing and soon dumped! Yep, his Gucci watch was taken straight back and exchanged for a lovely Pandora bracelet for myself!
Another time I was invited out for something to eat only to end up paying the sodding bill myself ...not exactly Princess treatment! Mug springs to mind together with taking the piss! (He was immediately dumped!) That, I am happy to report, was all a long time ago and now I am happy ...on my own!
You see, you don't get let down when there's only you to rely on. When there's only you to do something, well basically, it gets done and theres never any need to drop a hint about the fact that he leaves his socks and undies all over the house, make a point about the fact that he never makes the tea or nudge him delicately into doing something because there is only you!
Have I made a conscious choice not to be with a man? Yes and until a man comes along to prove that he is very different from the men I have been graced with, then that's the way it will stay!
Don't get me wrong, I would love to share my life with someone special and I suppose at this time of year, with Valentines Day looming, it highlights this but at the minute, I am having soo much fun on my own, I really wouldn't change it for the world...
