Thyme Restaurant West Didsbury

"I ended up having two beers, a great conversation, a bowl of tasty Calamari and just watched the West Didsbury glitterati rush by".

Thyme Restaurant West Didsbury

We all have our favourite Mediterranean holiday pastimes, whether it’s lounging by the pool with the latest paperback blockbuster, hiring a scooter or jeep and exploring or spending all hours clubbing and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, all worthy pastimes for hard working tourists. Me? I like nothing better than finding a good spot to people watch, ordering a cold beer and a bowl of calamari and letting an hour or so roll by.

Over the last few years we’ve tried to embrace the idea of cafe culture in Manchester, but our hectic lives leave little or no time to enjoy this Mediterranean cultural pastime. Last week, as we basked in Mediterranean temperatures I found myself with an hour to kill in West Didsbury.

A friend had recommended Thyme Restaurant on Burton Road West Didsbury its Italian / Mediterranean cuisine potentially ticked all the boxes. I ordered a cold beer and a bowl of calamari and had a chat with the owner Reza.

Thyme opened earlier this year and is run by Reza and Nooshin , both are passionate about their work , every dish every sauce is homemade in-house . Reza has been in the trade for 30 years and considers his team chefs not cooks, he delights in catering for individual tastes, so if it’s not on the menu - ask.

To tempt you through the patio doors at Thyme they offer some amazing offers;
