England V's USA ( what to do if we loose)

Starting a club night on the same day as Englands opening World Cup match could be considered an almighty balls up in the planning phase!

Manchester Gossip star Q&A all round top fella Terry Christian and his mate Phill Beckett (Rock n Roll bar, The Rev, Two for Joy ) have done just that.

Bop Local is a new night out for South Manchester. The idea is simple ~ start early, have lots of fun and a darn good time, without spending wads of cash on drinks and taxis in and out of town.

Terry and Phil will be playing loads of beltin’ tunes that you know and love from their ridiculously large record collections. Perfect for whether you want to stand around drinking and chatting, or dancing the night away!

The first Bop Local is on Saturday 12th June 8.30pm -1.30pm at the newly refurbed and soundproofed main room at Chorlton Irish Club. So if you’re watching the England match ~ at home, or in one of the local bars ~ there will be plenty of time to get down to celebrate their victory over USA or drown and dance away your sorrows.

Then again, who cares when the playlist looks like this:

LCD Soundsystem Talking Heads Lee Perry Rolling Stones Kings Of Leon The Kinks Temptations Chic Doves Dexy's Smiths Roses NORTHERN SOUL Staple Singers Friendly Fires Bee Gees Plan B The Clash Beastie Boys A Certain Ratio Elvis The LA's Dylan Chemical Brothers Shack Run DMC Stooges FUNK Jam De La Soul Madness Buzzcocks Grandmaster Flash PUNK Bowie Roxy Specials Toots & The Maytals Human League SKA Dusty Springfield Cymande Creedence Groove Armada The Dears Joy Division Pogues 808 State Marvin Gaye POP Mantronix Johnny Cash Underworld Isley Brothers Marley Tosh Sly & Robbie Funky Four (+1) Curtis Mayfield Midlake Rhythim Is Rhythim Hamilton Bohannon David Essex The Killers Rose Royce Gil Scott Heron Booker T Beck Violent Femmes Echo & The Bunnymen Beautiful South Big Audio Dynamite Ramones House Of Love PJ Harvey Prodigy Stevie Wonder Kraftwerk Plan B Queens Of The Stone Age Sister Sledge NEW WAVE Beatles Doves Soft Cell…

Best of luck lads or as they say in the world of entertainment "Break a leg " xxx.( only joking Phill ! )
