Okay Rosie ‘r kid’ you may be half way round the world but your a Manc at heart. Are you missing it?
YES of course…I love travelling and seeing the world and playing all of these amazing clubs, and smashing them, but I always look forward to coming home. I’m a true Manc at heart and I always get that warm feeling when I get back., which lasts all of an hour then I’m back working on my next destination. ;-)

qSo how did the Djing all come about?
I have always been into music and got into clubbing in the early nineties and fell in love with HOUSE music. I play the piano up to grade 6, and always enjoyed playing on friends decks and decided to buy my own. It all went from there really…the rest is what you see now.

qDescribe your music in 5 words!
Driving …jackin…tech…fluid…energy

qWhere are you currently, like right this minute, could you see a palm tree if you tried?
I am in MANCHESTER recovering from my gig in Warsaw, Poland. Unfortunately no palm trees here! I will soon be in every different part of the world. I will be heading over for my Asia tour in June for 14 days. Playing in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpa and many more. There will be plenty of palm trees there – Im sure. Ill send you some pictures.

qQuality! Obviously with you being from Manchester you would have grown up with some big music. What music inspired you?
Growing up with the Hacienda and all the house music in the early nineties. You only appreciate it when you are older but I was lucky enough to be around at that time and to be influenced by those geniuses. I didn’t realise that all of my clubbing years when I was going out and having a good time, was actually my ‘work experience’..so to speak.;-)

qOkay here’s one for you.....you have got 20,000 people in-front of you...the world is going to end....you have got one tune to play...what you going to spin to the masses?
I would play one of my own GURU! I love this track, its one of those tracks that takes you on a journey and makes you feel good with a real chunky tech house beat. Making sure everybody’s last few moments end on a happy feeling lol.

qYour mixing up some big tracks at the moment, are you working or have you worked with any of the big players in your industry?
Yes I have remixed for Zoo Brazils latest track from his album. You Can Have It All. I am working on another of his tracks taken from the same album.

qIbiza or MWC?
I haven’t done WMC as yet. It’s a definite for next year though! IBIZA is my second home.

qSo say you could collaborate with one person....dead or alive...who would be top of your wish list?
Steve Lawler, Joey Beltram, Dennis Ferrer, Trentmoller, Richie Hawtin…to name but a few.

qWhat the plans for this year?
I want to have made an album by the end of the year. Collaborate with some great producers, to have an Australian tour and to play at Glastonbury. I will be expanding the Rosie Romero brand and do as many remixes as possible to get the Rosie Romero sound out there. I have a few exciting projects in the pipeline…all will be revealed very soon.
Okay Agony Aunty style now. Im a young kid, spinning the love in my bedroom, neighbours are getting pi**ed right off, how do I make a name for myself?
Passion, belief, drive and a good musical ear.

qExposure is a big thing isn’t it...how do you steer clear of the sharks in the industry?
I use my inner guidance system. It hasn’t let me down yet ;-)

qWhich is the best club you have played at?
There’s a few places I have played that have blown my mind. Of course Sankeys is my spiritual home, where I have played regularly for three years. I love playing @ Pacha London. When I was playing at Club Touch in India it was an experience of a lifetime. Six Days Of Rain in Siberia with conditions of minus 30 degrees. One of my favourites is Ministry of Sound in Egypt where I play every few months. The club is an outdoorvenue and on the beach …what more could you ask for!!!

Okay now were really jealous. So jealous were finishing this convo!
