Blackdog Ballroom

The name instantly rocked our imaginations as we descended a wide staircase with wood panelled walls to the subterranean venue..

The Blackdog Ballroom is new, fasionable & occupies
the space that was previously North nightclub.

The layout feels good and the interior appears much bigger than I first expected, spacious booths to the left if you want some privacy and tables, chairs and fixed seating to the right. The free space is a key feature in evoking the feel good factor and the overall style captures a New York Loft Apartment vibe.

Exposed brick, wood floor panelling and distressed wall
paint all compliment the cool lighting & retro shades.

Further into the Blackdog Ballroom you take a step down to the pool tables alongside fixed padded seating and a wall of chalkboard for you to play around with, It makes for a comfortable change.

This is no gourmet restaurant, just a laid-back simplistic menu.
They serve till 1am & it's Pizzas, Burgers or Salads/Sides.

The 'pool' area is a great catalyst to get people talking as the manager Robert explained to us. He added "This would be a big part of the bars identity with conversation and good times being a primary starting block for good reputation".

Clearly passionate about pleasing his customers, Robert said he felt that a new place was needed in the Northern Quarter, one that rejects all the notions of ‘pretentious’ behavior, the place is great to meet up with friends, pass a couple hours, it's conducive to chatting, chilling, its aimed at men and women in their late 20’s 30’s. Whilst we were there we saw a cool collective of clientele, young professionals, nerd fighters and city chillers.

A relaxed hangout with that special new buzz.
